Bring Your Cameras To The Voting Centres - INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has promised Nigerians a credible election, and has asked them to bring cameras to the voting centres to capture any ugly event if it unfolds.

This was said by Engineer Edwin Nwatarali, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Anambra state, who noted that staff of the commission would be preempted (if they planned to carry out devious election-manipulating acts) by the possibility of being caught on camera.

He said this while responding to allegations that the INEC was giving ballot boxes to their favorite political candidates to thumbprint ahead of the elections.

He said: “That is a grave allegation, and no one can come here and make such spurious allegation without proof. It is very wrong to stand up and make such claims without evidence, and I will not sit down next time and watch this happen.

“Never the less, electorates are advised to come to the polling centers with their cameras, so that they will be able to capture any of such incidences that play out. That is the only time you can make such claims with evidence."

He also said that people without PVCs shouldn't even bother going to a polling unit as the three layers of security will be impenetrable for them.
