The Story of an Outstanding Corp Member! One of the 164 Awardees

Mrs. Maryann (Nee Achilike)
Its no longer News that Jonathan honoured 164 corps members yesterday. But a story from one of the awardees lifted my spirit, and reaffirmed my believe in Divinity.

Miss. Achilike Maryanna like every other graduate prayed to be posted to Rivers state, Portharcourt where she believed has high employment opportunity. however God has a better answer, her prayer was not answered as she was posted to serve in Nasarawa State.
while in Camp, she joined MDG group, they taught them how to carry out projects, how to source finance etc.

When it was time to be posted to the various local government, like everyone else she prayed to be posted to the state capital, other corpers used various ways/means to achieve their desire to be in the state capital, Miss Maryann did nothing, only prayed.

When the letters arrived, again, God did not answer her prayer, she was posted to a remote community, not a local government oooo. a developing community called Farin Ruwa Development Area, Nasarawa state.

This is a remote community with nothing, no water not even borehole is available, but when she got there, she didn't run away like I would, she stayed, reported at her place of primary assignment, a school where a table and chair is huge luxury.

This young lady, saw the needs, she had the burden, and the zeal to do something for the community.
she confided and discussed her ideas with some community elders, with their support, a community meeting was called and she  addressed and discussed her ideas with them. they were happy, they are raw materials  within the community that will be used for some of the proposed projects and they were ready to support her.

Members of the community far and near were contacted to raise finance, this lady traveled to various places around Nasarawa and Abuja to meet sons and daughters of Farin ruwa community to inform them of her proposed projects, and many of them were excited and gave their support. she said, she collect as small as N200 from members of the community, this is because, the rule for personal project is that the host community must be the financier of such project and everyone must be on board for the project.

With this collective effort, they raise a substantial amount, through which she built 70 dual desk for the class rooms, they constructed from trees around the school, ironically, the community had trees in abundance, yet couldn't construct chairs from them, rather they sat under the trees to learn. she also constructed  12 pieces of teachers table and chairs. fully equipped first Aid boxes with drugs and ointment, she trained 50 women in skill acquisition program, trained them in bakery. They lived like one family, she didn't discriminate nor was she selective, she adapted and even ate whatever that was offered. and they loved her so much.

In appreciation, they gave her a chieftaincy tithe; Ikeh (hardworking) chessu community, the innocent children prayed for her, asking God for 3 things; Marriage, fruitfulness(children) and job.
Today, all that prayer has been answered, she married 3 months after she completed her youth service, the community sent representatives that attended her wedding in Aba, all the way from Nasarawa State. she is heavily pregnant now and has automatic job from the President (FG). all her prayers has been answered in full. isn't God faithful?

Presidential Award Certificate
Nasarawa State government gave her award, and among other outstanding corp member she stood out. the presidential team that went round to inspect all the projects in the 36states of the federation, testified, that Farin ruwa community has not stopped talking about Maryann and her goodwill.

Let this story drop something in your spirit that our ways are not God ways, learn to allow nature take its full course. sometimes, by our actions, we deprive ourselves of God's plan and purpose. let our prayer be, 'Let Thy will be done'
