Villa in Lull, Ministers Wear Gloomy Faces

Following the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan in the presidential poll by Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, there was a lull in activities at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

Unlike busy working days before the election, the Presidential villa was very silent.
Villa staff were seen discussing the outcome of the presidential election.

Also ministers in Jonathan's cabinet, equally came in droves apparently to pay solidarity visit to their principal, President Goodluck Jonathan.

The ministers who on ordinary days exchange banters with State House correspondents, wore long faces and barely respond to greetings except Obanikoro.

Though Jonathan had accepted the result of the election with humility, his cabinet members, especially the new ones may have counted themselves as unlucky due to the closeness of the expiration of Jonathan's tenure.

The first minister to arrive Villa was Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (II), Musiliu Obanikoro, followed by Interior Minister, Abba Moro, Trade and Investment Minister, Olusegun Aganga, as well as other women ministers.

But for the president's loss at the poll, the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting would have been held Wednesday.
