Senate Receives Letter For Confirmation of Ekere as NDDC boss


The Senate has officially received a letter from President Mohammadu Buhari requesting the confirmation of Victor Ndoma Egba as Chairman and Isima Ekere as Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

A letter from the president seeking the confirmation of their appointments and the eighteen man board of the NDDC was read on the floor of the Senate during plenary by Senate President Bukola Saraki.

The Senate also confirmed receipt of a letter from the President seeking the confirmation of Justices of the Supreme Court in accordance with section 231 sub-sections 1 of the 1999 constitution as amended.

The letter read on parts: “In accordance with provision of section 22a of the NDDC act 2000, I hereby present the following nominees to the board of Niger Delta Development Commission for confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,”

Some of the names include Senator Victor Ndoma Egba from Cross River state as Chairman, Isima Ido Ikere from Akwa ibom state as the Managing Director, Ajuigbe Samuel from Delta state as executive director and Donatus Eyinna from Abia state as a member among others.
