Drama As Appeal Court Confirms Ali Modu Sheriff As PDP Chairman

Many are shocked as appeal court gave the most shocking judgement over the leadership tussle  rocking one of the largest party in African. Many anticipated that this judgement will mend the broken fence that has grounded the once ruling party in Nigeria. Many hope to see PDP bounce back again, but alas, there seem to be no end to the squabbles in the PDP

Is there still a future for PDP in Nigeria?

The Court of Appeal has declared Ali Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The court sitting in sitting in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state, on Friday, February 17 declared the decision taking at the May 21 Port-Harcourt convention of the party as null and void, Tribune reports.

The three judges presiding over the case in a unanimous decision agreed that Modu Sheriff is the chairman of the PDP.

This judgement will bring an end the leadership crisis rocking the main opposition party, as both factional chairmen Senators Ahmed Makarfi and Ali Modu Sheriff, have both laid claim to be the authentic representative of the party.

Makarfi and Sheriff have recorded judgment in many courts in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, but today’s judgment has put an end to the crisis, Daily Trust reports.

Prior to the February 17 judgement, both chieftains of the party expressed readiness to abide by the outcome of the Appeal Court verdict with a view to bringing lasting peace in the party.
