The special adviser to the governor on security, Retired Colonel Edwin Jando has presented weapons reportedly recovered from Agatu communities after a the recent army raid on communities in Agatu.

Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom has given a 72-hour ultimatum to the militia operating in Agatu to surrender themselves to the police or face military action.
Governor Ortom sympathized with the army of the death of a soldier who was reportedly killed by the Agatu militia.

Brigadier General Clement Apeere  explained what necessitated the raidin those communities. Apeere said there were hoodlums hiding in the communities and these hoodlums are responsible for several attacks including the one that cost a soldier’s life.

Apeere said that troops of 72 special force battalion were deployed to the area to recover arms and ammunition and the body of a slain soldier that was attacked by some Agatu youths.

We hope to update you more on this incident, because Agatu has been in the news for like forever, they have been abandoned to their fate by both state and FG following several attacks from Fulani herdsmen.

This condemning reports is suddenly turning the whole story around.... has it become a communal clash of some sort because suddenly Fulani herdsmen has disappeared from the picture.
