Suspected Herdsmen Unleash Mayhem On Delta Road
Suspected Herdsmen took over the Ohorhor-Bomadi Road in Delta State and unleashed mayhem on passengers by dispossessing them of their goods.
Vanguard reports that the incident happened on Thursday, February 9 and the Ohorhor-Bomadi Road is described as a major road linking many Ijaw communities in Bomadi and part of Burutu Local Government areas of the state.
There were reports that the herdsmen blocked the road for almost an hour and terrorized travelers.
Mr. Power Oba who is the acting chairman of the community said he was also contacted about the issue.
He said: “I was not around when they stormed the road. But I was informed on phone that they barricaded the road about 3p.m., and disposed passengers of valuables.”
A passenger who spoke on the condition of anonymity said he also witnessed the mayhem.
He said: “It was a scary sight as they freely robbed us without fear that police might drive into them.”
