Buhari Returns! Journalists Barred At The Air force Base, Meets With Osinbajo
Buhari Returned after a 49-day vacation in the UK. |
The plane conveying President Muhammadu Buhari touched down at the air force base along Mando road in Kaduna at 7:47am on Friday.
Journalists were bared from going close to the president, who disembarked from the plane 10 minutes later, greeted some government officials before boarding a chopper, which took off to Abuja.
Only camera men and photo journalists were allowed to take photographs and video recordings, as Buhari did not entertain questions from reporters.
Barnabas Bala, deputy governor of Kaduna state, and Agyole Abeh, commissioner of police in the state, were among those who welcomed the president.
Reporters had initially gone to the Kaduna international airport before converging on the base.
There were unconfirmed reports that Buhari had arrived at 4am, and moved into the base, which is some distance from the airport.
Buhari meets Osinbajo, governors at Aso Rock
The chopper carrying the president from Kaduna Airforce base touched down at the helipad in Aso rock. He was received by Abba Kyari, chief of staff to the president; Babagana Monguno, national security adviser; Lawal Daura, director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS) and Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman.
Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state, and Abdulaziz Yari, his Zamfara state counterpart, are among those attending the meeting.
At the meeting, Buhari promised to re-dedicate himself to the service of the nation
After the meeting the President was seen retiring to his official resident inside the presidential villa
He retired to his residence at the end of a meeting he had with top government officials led by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the First Lady Conference Room.
