The tale of Two Countries And Rotimi Amaechi
The transport Minister, M Rotimi Amaechi during a meeting complained of too many police checkpoints along Badagry /Seme border.....Here is the report he got.....👇👇👇👇👇
“I asked at the regional meeting that why is it that we saw four checkpoints on the way to Togo and Lome.
“The security officer at Lome apologised, saying they usually had two checkpoints but due to Nigerian elections, they increased the checkpoints to four.
“In Nigeria, election or no election, we saw 17 checkpoints. The government security officers said that they did not know where the people came from but it would be handled,” Amaechi said.
Lome and Togo could easily explain why they had 4 checkpoints while the Nigerian side could not explain 17 checkpoints!
This is a tip of what happens in the south east and other parts of the country! Sometimes, it seems the country is on autopilot with no sense of direction or orderliness.
Unfortunately, some officers take advantage of the uncoordinated situation and commit crimes against the people and it's difficult to fish them out.
