Mr Kelechi Deca has revealed the true position of South Africa crime wise.... And I bet you that after reading this, you will smile and be glad for your country.

SAfrica by the Numbers - Kelechi Deca
  -----------------------------------

Nigeria is not better.

I agree....

There are criminals of Nigerian extraction who are engaged in some unprintable activities in South Africa. That is a fact.

Now let us focus.

But first read to help understand that contrary to the claims they are making, their problems were not caused by foreigners, rather foreign criminals came into a crime infested society and found home for their criminal acts.

There is an underlying crime culture in that country that their leadership refused to acknowledge or address, hiding under the blame game of foreigners.

Because their leaders (like ours) are more interested in shifting blames.

Today I want to take a look at the statistics coming out of South Africa to highlight how sick that society is and also to let you know that xenophobia is just a part of the bigger package of societal degeneration that country is suffering.

In South Africa;

A murder is committed every 30 minutes.

Children are murdered every single day in South Africa.

Every six hours, a woman is murdered.

Every six hours, a husband or boyfriend kills a woman.

In 2018 femicide had increased by 117% between 2015 and 2016/17.

In 2016, the age-standardised interpersonal violence death rate for females was 4.8 times the global average rate of 2.6.

South Africa has the fourth highest female interpersonal violence death rate out of the 183 countries listed by the WHO.

Every 3 minutes a child is raped.

South Africa has some of the highest incidences of child and infant rape in the world.

New report says that there has been 400% increase in sexual violence against children and that it may still be on the rise.

Every 36 seconds a woman is raped.

1 out of every 4 women had been raped.

NGOs and experts say the adult rape figures are more than double that of India.

A woman being raped over the age of 25 in South Africa has a one in four chance that her attacker is HIV positive and more women than men are affected from HIV/AIDS.

In March 2019 alone, there were 177,620 reported crimes against women.

About 60,000 rapes take place each year.

Experts say the figure is at least 10 times that, meaning the real figure may be around 600,000.

Children are the victims of 41% of all rapes reported in the country.

124,526 total rape cases was reported in a particular three year period, children were the victims of a sickening 40% of these cases.

In 2014/15, there were 15,520 child rapes reported.

In 2015/16, there were 16,389 child rapes reported.

In 2016/17, it rose even further: 19,071 child rapes reported.

Infant rapes is common—so bad that the babies and toddlers had to undergo extensive reconstructive surgery to rebuild urinary, genital, abdominal, or tracheal systems.

There have been incidences of 8-10 month-old infants gang raped.

Over 46 children are raped every day.

Over 50% of children are abused before the age of 18.

About 15% of children are abused before the age of 13.

The largest increase in attacks was against children under 7 years old.

NGO figures estimates that 21,538 to 24,892 rapes and attempted rapes of children yearly.

Child welfare groups believe the number of unreported incidents could be up to 10 times that number.

More than 10 lesbians per week are raped or gang-raped in Cape Town alone; known as corrective rape, a practice believed to convert lesbians and homosexuals to heterosexuality.

Rape of elderly grandmothers, mostly in rural communities, even grandmothers up to 80 years old aren’t spared.

Men are forced to have sex with other men.

About 19.4% of all adult victims of sexual assault in South Africa are male.

A survey estimates that 1 in 5 five adult males become victims of sexual offences, and that this figure could be 10 times more because men are less likely to report a sexual violation than a woman.

37.4% of men admitted to raping a woman.

15% of men had raped a woman who was not their partner.

Of these, nearly half said they had raped more than one person.

Men from ages 20–40 are more likely to have raped younger or older men.

60% of both boys and girls, aged 10 to 19 years old, says its okay to force sex upon someone they knew.

11% of boys and 4% of girls admitted to forcing someone else to have sex with them.

25% of boys say that 'jackrolling', a term for gang rape, was fun.

12.7% of students believe in the virgin cleansing myth.

More than half of interviewees in researches in sexual related violence and rape incidences insisted that when a girl says no to sex she really means yes.

South Africans are steeped in the “virgin cleansing myth”; HIV ravaged South Africans believe that having sex with a virgin will cure a man of AIDS.

The rate of sexual violence and murders in South Africa are among the highest in the world.

After reading through the figures and watching over 15 video clips from reliable sources, I now understand how the situation must be so overwhelming, that is why men like Mbeki and co are speaking from both sides of the mouth.
