Borno State House Of Assembly Honours ex-SARS Commander- SEE WHY!
The Borno house of assembly on Thursday honoured Ibrahim Mohammed, former commander of the disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS) in the state.
For reasons they said for his outstanding performance in the fight against insurgence.
At the plenary session, Abdullahi Askira, the deputy speaker, said Mohammed displayed gallantry in the fight against Boko Haram, armed bandits and kidnappers.
Mohammed, who dressed in his police uniform, was accompanied by his wife.
His honour comes at a time when there is a nationwide outrage against the excesses of SARS and this speaks volumes as there is a sharp division among the south and northern Nigeria.
Interestingly, the Governors from the north had declared support for the squad that the IGP disbanded on Sunday.
