Facebook Restriction: My Experience

Facebook restrictions may make the platform uninteresting in the future. Most annoyingly is the fact that once you are restricted, you have little or no window to plead your case. The judgement is swiftly carried out on you and few rhetorical questions are sent to you of which your response will not change the so called judgement or restriction that has been placed on you.

I understand their fear of being yanked out of the internet world of any country or the need to make the platform safe for all people but the restriction action is often too harsh and sudden without any room for a redressed or review.

It’s sad enough that they operate a robotic system where it’s  most difficult to get a human being attend to you when you have issues . For example, I woke up one morning in 2020 to notice that my blog has been restricted from Facebook. This means I can’t share my content on Facebook, not on my wall or my page, Infact, it extended to my Instagram page. It was most annoying but beyond annoying, I was frustrated because there seems to be no channel for a redress. Countless mails have been sent with no response and no hope of any being taking a second look at that decision.

Worse of all is the fact that I have no idea of what it was that went against their community rules.... it’s just a blog site and nothing more.

Facebook is becoming a fault finding platform and must urgently find a balance to make the platform interesting and accommodating to all. I can comfortably accuse them of bias in their decisions... because it seems that the only way to enjoy the platform is to walk on eggshells.

Share your experience.
