They sold their cars , houses and belongings to raise 10,000 pounds ( 10 million Naira) to get a non existent job in the UK 

They now ended up in UK begging for food like Almajaris at food banks.

These people were not poor in Nigeria but have poverty of the MIND . They are now trapped and cannot go back . They sold everything they had just to get to UK .

By definition if you have 10 million Naira in Nigeria you are not poor . The 10 million Naira they used in getting these work visas can be used to employ themselves and create employment and have dignity in Nigeria. It is a warped mindset. Mental poverty is actually worse than physical.
